I want to talk about this image because it is incredibly striking and says hella about the dynamics these two have in their very broken relationship. Elsa is crumbled on the ground under a sea of snowflakes, doing what she does best: running for her life from herself. And Anna is standing over her, defending her, just as she always has. Her entire life Anna believed in Elsa and never truly gave up believing her sister was somewhere behind that door and was completely ready to welcome Elsa back into her arms, no questions asked, when she eventually emerged. When she learned the truth she was quick to defend her, countering all the duke’s insults and believing Elsa incapable of doing harm to another person. Even after Elsa’s magic attacked her, she had faith in her sister and was her constant shield. And then she became her sister’s literal shield, dying to protect her from the world. This frame is stunning, heart wrenching, and beautiful. (image not mine)

"One of the best sequences I’ve ever seen pitched is the climax of this movie. John Ripa pitched it, and the room was quiet. We stopped, and then Lasseter said, ‘I’ve never seen anything like that before.’ We gave John Ripa a standing ovation, because if we can make the movie support this ending, it’s going to be a great movie."
